For Yamaha Motor Europe N.V.(YME), located at Schiphol-Rijk in the Netherlands, we are looking for a Buyer in our Parts & Accessories Division.

 

About the role: 
The main purpose of this role is to understand relevant compliance requirements and regulations and translate them into clear actions for our bolt-on accessories & apparel portfolio and supplier base. The role drives supplier follow-up and closure on compliance-related items (for example IMDS submissions, questionnaires and supporting evidence, packaging and material declarations, and contract compliance annotations) and maintains audit-ready documentation. Expected focus is approximately 80 percent compliance related work and 20 percent support for basic line-up procurement optimization for existing items.

 

This role focuses on compliance translation, supplier follow-up and documentation. It is not intended to be a broad category management role.
Inventory Coordinators manage day-to-day inventory work, including ordering, replenishment execution, expediting and operational allocation steering.
Project Buyers manage RFQ execution and supplier selection for new item creation. This role supports by providing compliance requirements input and supplier follow-up on compliance deliverables for new and existing items.

 

Your responsibilities:
•    Monitor relevant regulatory changes and internal compliance requirements that impact materials, chemicals, packaging and waste management for bolt-on accessories, including Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation topics.
•    Translate requirements into clear implications for products and suppliers: what is affected, what evidence is required, and what actions are needed and by when.
•    Track open supplier compliance items and drive timely closure through structured follow-up, reminders and escalation when needed.
•    Request, collect and validate supplier documentation such as declarations, questionnaires and evidence packs required for compliance and audits.
•    Maintain a clear status overview of open items, due dates, risks and next actions and communicate progress to stakeholders.
•    Coordinate and follow up with suppliers to ensure IMDS submissions are completed, corrected when rejected and accepted within agreed timelines.
•    Maintain basic reporting on IMDS acceptance rate, open rejections and supplier responsiveness.
•    Follow up with suppliers, or with Project Buyers when changes are linked to new item development, for necessary packaging and product labelling changes required by regulations or internal requirements.
•    Coordinate evidence and confirmations for packaging marks and labelling elements, where applicable, and ensure documentation is captured and traceable.
•    Support contract compliance annotations and ensure relevant compliance clauses or notes are captured and tracked in cooperation with Legal and Procurement.
•    Support internal or external audits by providing required evidence and status updates.
•    Coordinate with Project Buyers, Inventory Coordinators, Product Planning, Sales, Compliance, QA, Legal, Logistics and Trade Compliance to ensure actions are clear and deliverables are completed.
•    For existing bolt-on accessories, support Inventory Coordinators by negotiating and updating supplier parameters that influence inventory and availability, such as price, lead time, MOQ and flexibility.

 

What do you bring?
•    Minimum 2 years’ of business experience in similar roles.
•    A relevant Higher Professional education in Procurement or Business Management.
•    Experience in product, packaging, material or supplier compliance and regulatory topics, preferably in automotive or consumer durable products.
•    Ability to interpret regulations and convert them into practical actions for products and suppliers and to drive follow-up to closure.
•    Working knowledge of IMDS and supplier data quality follow-up is strongly preferred.
•    Strong coordination and administration skills: tracking open issues, managing documentation and maintaining accurate records.
•    Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across Compliance, QA, Legal, Project Buyers and Inventory Coordinators.
•    Analytical skills and strong proficiency in Excel and structured reporting.
•    Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
