For Yamaha Motor Europe N.V., located at Schiphol-Rijk in the Netherlands, we are looking for a CSR Environment Coordinator in our CSR Department.
About the role:
Building on Yamaha Motor Corporation’s (YMC) global sustainability approach, YME has developed a sustainable strategy and is making continuous efforts to make sustainability an integral part of the business processes and work environment. YME strategic priorities are to reduce emissions, drive energy and material efficiency, advance diversity and inclusion and engage distributors, dealers, and customers on sustainability matters.
Your responsibilities:
In this role, you will act as the main contact with principal accountability to ensure the coordination and achievement of main KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and KGIs (Key Goal Indicators) related to Environment (E) area which is an integrated part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) by conducting activities that minimize the impact on Environment.
Your primary focus will be on key responsibilities but not limited to the areas listed below.
1. Environmental performance
• Assume knowledge, upskilling & ownership for environmental topics and specific ESG regulatory frameworks
• Facilitate the development, implementation, roll-out and monitoring of programs aimed at environmental compliance, prevention of pollution, climate mitigation, environmental resource re-use, representing the broader YME interest
• Work closely with all EU group companies to adopt appropriate initiatives and to set targets & ambitions related to environmental plans
2. Carbon footprint Scope 1,2,3 GHG emissions
• Assume direct knowledge & accountability for Scope 1,2,3 methodologies and their impact for Yamaha Motor Europe
• Accommodate, together with topic experts, initiatives that contribute to the roll-out and achievement of the transition plan while staying aligned with the company’s ambitions for carbon neutrality (net zero)
• Investigate & suggest measures for continuous improvements related to energy saving & efficiency and renewable energy intake
3. PAT (Policies, Action plans, Targets)
• Develop programs and policies (or support policy makers) by offering internal assistance for the area assigned
• Monitor and gather information on local and national laws and regulations
• Propose objectives, projects, KPIs and ambitions for MTP (Mid Term Plan) for the area assigned
What do you bring?
• Minimum 5 years of experience preferably in the ESG – environment area;
• University degree in environmental science, environmental engineering or business;
• Environmental project exposure, preferably within the energy sector, counts as advantage;
• Previous exposure to NGOs operating in the environmental sector and/or consultancy sector (in sustainability) count as advantage;
• Good understanding of environmental regulations and legislation;
• Ability to express & iterate clearly environmental concepts into business language;
• Fluency in English mandatory, other European languages count as advantage.
Competencies:
• Project management skills or previous experience in environmental projects;
• Commitment to sustainable initiatives with focus on energy, CO2 emissions, waste;
• Excellent organizational, communication and analytical skills;
• Friendliness & cooperative mindset, customer focus.
About Yamaha Motor Europe:
Yamaha Motor Europe is responsible for coordinating the marketing and sales activities of our products in the European market, mainly: Yamaha motorcycles, scooters, eBikes, marine engines, personal watercraft vehicles, boats, 4-wheeled all terrain and side-by-side vehicles (ATVs/SSVs), lightweight vehicles (golf cars, personal and commercial vehicles) and eBike drive units and systems.
