For Yamaha Motor Europe N.V.(YME), located at Schiphol-Rijk in the Netherlands, we are looking for a Compliance Officer in our Compliance Department.

 

About the role: 
You are part of the Compliance Department which is responsible for Risk Management and Compliance. Working with your manager, you will support and ensure compliance activities, which are generally initiated by Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (YMC) in Japan. The Compliance Department is responsible for establishing Risk and Compliance programs at YME and its branches/subsidiaries and to actively set up, manage and monitor these subjects, ensuring proper control. The position focuses on hands-on (operational tasks) and includes some consultative (developmental) tasks as well.

 

Together with your manager, you will oversee and coordinate YME’s Compliance processes. Identify and analyse jurisdiction-specific requirements and deadlines and translate these into technical compliance requirements to be included in policies and procedures.  Examples of compliance and governance topics are code of ethics, anti-bribery guidelines, sanction controls, authorization chart, internal approval processes, incident reporting, and any new compliance related (EU) regulations.

 

Your responsibilities:
•    Establish and maintain effective compliance controls to detect and prevent compliance violations;
•    Provide check lists and control items delivered via certain internal compliance tools and collect data to perform necessary checks, such as gift and anti-bribery guidelines and security and trade controls; 
•    Initiate security and sanction controls in compliance with YMC rules and applicable legal regulation;
•    Perform compliance controls regarding corporate governance rules and update internal rules when necessary;
•    Prepare reports for senior management, highlighting key risks, compliance issues, and any corrective actions taken and ensure regular updates on compliance performance and risk status;
•    Conduct training sessions for employees and management on risk and compliance topics;
•    Contributing to Risk Assessment cycle reporting incompliance with YMC;
•    Contribute to the annual YME Operational risk assessment through workshops, interviews, questionnaires, data analysis, increasing awareness of YME’s risk environment.

 

What do you bring?
•    Compliance Expertise: Solid understanding of fundamental compliance, risk management, sanctions, and corporate governance;
•    Minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on experience in compliance practice (preferred);
•    Regulatory Knowledge: Ability to understand security, trade regulations and international sanctions standards. In addition, compliance related regulations applicable in EU such as whistleblowing directive and anti-bribery guidelines;
•    Understanding of internal company rules and the ability to stay current with and adapt to evolving regulatory frameworks;
•    Knowledge in risk assessment: Proficiency in navigating complex compliance risk frameworks and risk-based compliance;
•    Agility & Responsiveness: Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and respond to needs with a sense of urgency;
•    Active Listening & Execution: Strong capacity to listen effectively and translate instructions or feedback into immediate, practical action;
•    Collaborative Team Player: Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment to achieve shared goals;
•    Proactive Self-Initiator: Highly motivated individual who takes the lead on tasks and works independently without constant supervision.
